CoachIQ, the all-in-one business platform built by and for sports coaches, is proud to announce the closing of a $1.3 million pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Utah-based Startup Ignition Ventures (SIV) and joined by a roster of professional athletes, exited founders, and entrepreneurs who believe in the power of coaches to transform athlete development.
Built by Athletes, Backed by Coaches
Founded by former Division 1 athletes Ryan Bua, Russell Reeder, and Corey Quick, CoachIQ was created to solve a clear pain point in youth sports: the fragmented, overpriced, and confusing ecosystem facing athletes and families. Our solution isn’t another app aimed at players—it’s a platform built to empower the people who matter most: coaches.
With CoachIQ, coaches can manage their business end-to-end—from websites and scheduling to payments, CRM, online coaching, and more. Since launching our full product in August 2024, we’ve grown rapidly, now serving 500+ coaching businesses across the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia, and Latin America, facilitating over $5 million in annual payments on behalf of our customers.

Why CoachIQ?
We believe the coach is the single most important influence in an athlete’s journey. Yet most coaching businesses are buried under administrative work, relying on outdated tools or cobbled-together software. CoachIQ solves this by giving coaches one streamlined platform—and giving them back their time.
“Coaches shouldn’t be limited by tools. We’ve designed CoachIQ to scale with them and support their business whether they’re just starting or managing hundreds of athletes,” said CEO Ryan Bua.
We’ve intentionally built a flexible system that supports coaches across 13+ sports, from basketball and football to tennis, pickleball, jiu-jitsu, and even BMX. No matter the sport, the mission remains the same: help coaches grow their business and elevate the athlete experience.
What’s Next
With the support of SIV and our broader community, we’re entering 2025 with a focus on product excellence and customer obsession. We’re continuing to build a platform that our customers don’t just use—they rely on.
“The best software is invisible. CoachIQ isn’t about screen time; it’s about helping coaches run world-class businesses without needing to log in 50 times a day,” said Bua.
Our north star is simple: when coaches succeed, athletes win. And we’re just getting started.
