In-person coaching.
A plan between
every session.

At CH Catching/Hitting in Lakeside, California, Carl Hudson connects in-person baseball and softball training with work athletes can do between visits. CoachIQ brings the training purchase, session booking, and online programs into the same business.

Before

A schedule held together manually

  • Carl tracked training in Excel alongside the booking app used by the facility where he rented space.
  • That app did not support his group sessions. He had to ask the facility owner to block off time and text parents to coordinate.
  • For training away from the cage, he shared drill videos through photo albums.
With CoachIQ

One journey for families

  • Families purchase training, then book their sessions through CH’s CoachIQ setup.
  • The current offers include single-session credits and monthly training subscriptions, alongside private lessons and high-school groups.
  • Carl pairs in-person coaching with online training. Athletes can keep working between visits and send videos and questions through the app.
How CH uses CoachIQ

Purchase. Book.
Keep training.

Follow the path from a family’s training purchase to the work an athlete does between sessions.

01

Choose the training commitment

A family can buy a single-session credit or choose recurring training. CH’s Hybrid Weekly Training plan with Carl is billed monthly and includes four session credits plus online training to support work away from the cage.

02

Book the right session

CH has separate booking options for private lessons with Carl or Shane, high-school catching groups with either coach, and high-school hitting groups with Carl. The current setup lists 30-minute private lessons and 60-minute groups; Carl’s catching group uses one session credit.

03

Keep working between visits

Carl describes giving athletes individual work to complete outside their sessions, then using messages and submitted videos to continue the feedback. CH’s CoachIQ library includes programs for receiving, blocking, transfers, and hitting. The in-person session becomes part of an ongoing training plan.

Why it matters to Carl

Group training.
Individual attention.

For Carl, the point of hybrid training is to make group sessions work without losing the individual plan. In his CoachIQ podcast interview, he explains that athletes can work on their own priorities between visits and bring that work back into the next session.

The business side supports that approach: families can purchase and schedule training, while Carl uses the same platform for online programs and athlete communication. He reports positive feedback from parents after moving through several earlier systems.
